BLUNDELLSANDS ARCHERS HAS BEEN VOTED CLUB OF THE YEAR 2008 BY SEFTON COUNCIL AND PARKWOOD LEISURE SEE NEWS PAGE FOR MORE INFO.

The club has a strong association with many local schools and agencies, other archery clubs on Merseyside; various sport organisations; Sefton Lesiure Services and Sefton Sports Council, and Sports UK.

In January 2008 the club was pleased in achieving recognition of its hard work in gaining "Clubmark" accreditation from Merseyside Sports Partnership, which is nationally recognised through Sport England, and this will also be recognised by the Grand National Archery Society, our national governing body. This is proof that we as a club have met quality standards in; Duty of care and child protection, Sports Equality and Ethics, and Club Management

In 2008, Merseyside celebrates Capital of Culture Year. We are pleased to announce that we are a recognised Supporter Sponsor by hosting the archery event of the World Firefighter Games here at Blundellsands Archers outdoor venue.

We annually host the British Longbow Society (B.L.B.S.) clout shoot each July, and now have some photos of this tournament.

The club is registered with Merseyside Sports Disability. The indoor venue has full disabled facilities, but the outdoor venue does not yet have full facilities i.e. no toilet access.

The main type of shooting carried out by the club members are Target and Clout. Any visitor is welcome to use the club facilities, as long as he or she can produce their current G.N.A.S. or F.I.T.A. membership card and pay a nominal field fee.

We are licensed by the Grand National Archery Society and registered with the local Licensing Authority for the activities listed above
